Eliza Gilkyson is a twice Grammy-nominated (2006/2015) folk singer/songwriter and activist who is one of the most respected musicians in Folk, Roots and Americana circles. Her critically acclaimed new release, Secularia, is a collection of spiritually charged songs of “grief, gratitude and wonder” that do not fit within the parameters of traditional patriarchal religious beliefs but challenge us to respect all life and be accountable for our actions in such divisive times.
To tour the new recording Eliza has put together what she describes as her "dream trio" with beloved singer-songwriter/violinist Tracy Grammar (Dave Carter) and multi-instrumentalist Jim Henry (Mary Chapin Carpenter/Paula Cole). The versatile group effortlessly embraces the wide spectrum of musical outpourings that Eliza is known for, from dreamy atmospheric spiritual meditations to rocking political diatribe to 3 part harmony hoedown to deeply articulated love songs. “It’s a miracle for me to have this kind of musical versatility to lean into every night. We have so much fun playing off each other and there is sense of spontaneity in this show that we never could have predicted" says Gilkyson. “Every night we can’t wait to get out there and play!"
“Eliza Gilkyson is a politically minded, poetically gifted singer-songwriter…one of the most respected musicians in folk and Americana music circles.”
